Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Rosedale, MD 21237 (Baltimore area)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1590 - $1710
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: December 9, 2025
• End Date: March 10, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:30 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Medical Surgical Telemetry (post-op focus, telemetry monitoring)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 2 out of 3 winter holidays and other holidays during contract
• Scrubs: Navy Blue (not provided)
• Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Compact RN license or Maryland Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
• Experience with gender affirmation surgery patients preferred (not required)
• Cerner electronic charting experience preferred
• Ability to float to units of equal or lower acuity as needed
• Two supervisor references required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a post-operative focus
• Monitor, interpret, and respond to telemetry rhythms; participate in rapid response and code situations
• Administer medications and blood products; manage central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, surgical drains, and wound vacs
• Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and manage feeding tubes and airway devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR (preferred)
• Maintain infection control and isolation precautions
• Float to other nursing units as required
