Essential Job Functions:- Designs, delivers, and evaluates comprehensive coding education programs for new and existing coding providers and staff.
- Conducts routine and ad-hoc coding audits; analyzes results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provides feedback, coaching, and one-on-one education based on audit findings and performance metrics.
- Stays up-to-date with current coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory updates (CMS, AMA, OIG, etc.).
- Collaborates with compliance, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), revenue integrity, and billing teams to align education with enterprise goals.
- Develops training materials, reference guides, and online modules using best practices in adult education.
- Partners with providers and clinical staff to educate on documentation best practices that support compliant and accurate coding.
- Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for coding-related inquiries and serve as a resource to internal stakeholders.
- Assists with onboarding and training of new hires and support cross-training efforts within the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
