Bariatrics - Physician

The Bariatrics Physician at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix provides specialized surgical care for obesity patients within a nationally accredited bariatric surgery program. The role requires board certification in general surgery, ASMBS certification in bariatrics, and the ability to operate independently while covering overnight call shifts. The position emphasizes academic medicine, patient-centered care, and contributes to research and resident training in a leading Level 1 Trauma hospital setting.

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Per Diem board-certified Bariatric Surgeon to join our nationally accredited MBSAQIP program. Established in 2015, our program has experienced rapid growth while maintaining a commitment to clinical excellence in treating high-acuity patients, providing exceptional training for residents and medical students, and advancing research in bariatric medicine.

Our comprehensive bariatric surgery program at Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix combines academic medicine with patient-centered care. As part of Banner – University Medicine, we offer patients access to cutting-edge treatments and specialized expertise in weight-loss surgery within our 746-bed, Level 1 Trauma facility—recognized as one of America's "Best Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report.

Successful Applicants Must:

• Demonstrates passionate commitment to excellent care for patients with obesity
• Has exceptional surgical experience and can operate independently
• Holds Board Certification in General Surgery and ASMBS Certification as a Bariatric Surgeon
• Licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of AZ
• Current prescribing privileges including a DEA license for controlled substance
