Job Description

Join Interstate Waste Services as a Diesel Mechanic and be part of a progressive team dedicated to maintaining top-notch waste and recycling services. You'll perform essential diagnostics and repairs on diesel heavy trucks and engines, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, diagnosis, and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
  • Repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
  • Utilize diagnostic software to interpret failure modes
  • Assist with emergency breakdowns as needed

Required Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
  • Experience working on heavy duty diesel equipment or training from a recognized trade school
  • Ability to speak and read English well enough to communicate
  • Must meet physical and safety requirements
  • Must provide own tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience as a heavy duty Diesel Mechanic
  • Experience with DPF systems diagnostic software
  • Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA standards and regulations
