Job Description
Join Raytheon as a Senior System Safety Engineer, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of defense systems. You'll collaborate across teams to analyze designs, assess risks, and implement safety measures, contributing to national security efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze engineering hardware and schematics for safety compliance
Ensure system safety controls are in place with system test and maintenance procedures
Collaborate with various teams to eliminate hazards
Prepare Safety Assessment Reports and Program Briefs for Customer Approval
Brief safety aspects at technical reviews
Interpret system requirements and military standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Experience with Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical/Firmware Engineering
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems
Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
Knowledge of safety standards (MIL-STD-882, AMCOM 385-17, etc.)
Experience producing System Safety Program Plans, Safety Assessment Reports, Functional Hazard Analysis, and Hazard Tracking Logs
Experience conducting System Safety Working Groups
Strong interpersonal and project management skills
