Overview: A high-acuity emergency department in Maryville, Illinois is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week night shift contract. This role involves caring for patients across all age groups and managing a wide range of emergency presentations. Candidates must be available to work every third weekend and possess strong clinical skills in both adult and pediatric emergency care.

Required Certifications:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Preferred Certifications:

• NIHSS
• TNCC

Patient Population:

• Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics

Clinical Skills Required:

• General emergency care for combined adult/pediatric populations
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• Phlebotomy and IV initiation
• Continuous IV sedation and vasopressor administration
• Procedural sedation
• Management of CVA, ortho-trauma, head injury, near drowning
• ABG interpretation and isolation precautions

• Medication: Pyxis
• Documentation: MediTech
• Communication: Vocera
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Scheduling Details:

• Night shift: 19:00 – 07:30
• Weekend coverage: every third weekend
• Number of weekend shifts per contract determined in agreement with facility
