Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Medical Office Assistant, where you will play a vital role in patient care. Your responsibilities will include assisting with patient intake, administering injections, and supporting the medical team in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer subcutaneous and intra-muscular injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare pathology and lab specimens and route them to the correct lab
Respond to patient questions in the office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments
Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures as needed
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
At least one year of medical assisting experience (preferred)
Professionalism and strong customer service skills
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with doctors
Ability to communicate professionally with patients and co-workers
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
