Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN will be expected to embody key organizational values known for our commitment to patient and staff safety, excellence in care, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide timely patient information and status updates for initial and re-evaluation team conferences.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with policy.
  • Participate actively in the patient rehabilitation program, utilizing the nursing process to prioritize education and care.
  • Initiate discharge planning upon admission and begin patient education in anticipation of discharge.
  • Communicate any significant changes in patient status to the appropriate care providers for continuity of care.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel while promoting effective problem-solving and decision-making techniques.
  • Maintain personal and environmental safety by adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Contribute positively to the unit’s functioning by supporting team-building activities and maintaining effective communication with all staff.
  • Actively pursue professional development and continuing education opportunities.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
  • Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
