Join PG&E as a Senior Sourcing Quality Inspection Engineer, responsible for ensuring the quality of substation equipment through rigorous inspections and evaluations. This role offers the opportunity to travel both domestically and internationally while working closely with suppliers to uphold PG&E's operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform factory inspections for substation class equipment
Document and report on inspection activities and deficiencies
Participate in surveillance inspections at supplier factories
Analyze quality performance data and provide technical recommendations
Assist new Quality Inspection Engineers
Evaluate specifications and standards for quality
Required Qualifications
5 years of work experience in electrical or gas equipment quality and/or inspection, project engineering, and/or manufacturing environment
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, mechanical, or related engineering degree from an accredited curriculum
Preferred Qualifications
American Society of Quality - Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certificate
Experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on inspection of defective materials
Auditing experience
Electric utility experience with knowledge of electrical substation and transmission equipment
Lean Six Sigma experience and training
Lead Auditor training
Experience in building supplier relationships
Knowledge of ISO-9000 systems and Quality Management Systems
