Job Description
Join Uncommon Schools as a College Counselor, where you'll empower students to navigate their college journey. Collaborate with students and families to ensure college readiness and support them through the application process, helping to close the college completion gap in underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities
Teach 11th and 12th grade college seminar courses
Guide students through the college application process
Build a culture of college and career readiness
Collaborate with parents and families
Refine expertise through professional development
Build relationships with college admissions offices
Support college visits and information sessions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of two years experience in an urban district or charter school setting
Prior experience working with high school students and families and/or in college admissions
Ability to communicate effectively
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks
Strong digital literacy including Microsoft Office and college counseling tools
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
