Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to attraction downtimes and support engineering services
  • Develop scope for attraction reliability improvement
  • Select systems and equipment that meet design requirements
  • Monitor downtime trends for reliability improvements
  • Ensure systems operate within established performance criteria
  • Investigate and troubleshoot control systems
  • Plan and coordinate technical tasks in Sustaining Engineering
  • Perform hazard analyses for ride systems
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes
  • Remain updated on ride control system technology

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Controls Systems experience in amusement park or industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Ride element performance analysis skills
  • Knowledge of electronic control systems and signal processing
  • Experience with electrical motor controls and variable frequency drives
  • Familiarity with industrial automation PLCs (Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Knowledge of National and California Electrical Codes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and object-oriented programming (C/C++)
  • Experience with ladder logic and wiring/interconnect diagrams
  • Knowledge of ANSI, ASTM, and IEEE standards
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • California Professional Registration
  • Experience in controls circuit design and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of PDL and ICL
  • Familiarity with safety PLCs and industrial controls
  • Experience with audio/visual systems and system reliability
  • Scripting skills in C, VB, JS, etc.
