Job Summary

  • The Clinical Care Assistant is responsible for assisting the medical assistant and/or nursing staff with administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a provider. Administrative duties may include updating the patient schedule to indicate arrival and designated room. Clinical duties may include measurement of blood pressure, pulse, respirations, pulse oximetry, temperature, height, and weight, patient transport, preparing patients for examination, exam room cleaning, stocking of supplies, spraying instruments with holding gel and sending to Sterile Processing for sterilization, and phlebotomy with specific training.

Job Requirements

  • Education

    • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Experience

    • Required: None

    • Preferred: Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people

    • Preferred: Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting

  • Skills

    • Must be 17 years of age or older

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

    • Carry out delegated tasks under the supervision of clinical staff.

    • Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration

    • Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days
