The Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician provides inpatient mental health diagnosis and treatment to adolescents, adults, and senior patients at a large behavioral health hospital. Treatment modalities include psychotherapy, medication management, detoxification, and stabilization for various mental health and substance use disorders. The role requires a medical degree, board certification in psychiatry, and licensure with DEA credentials for controlled substances prescribing.

Located in the historic Little Hills area , CenterPoint e Hospital serves adolescents, adults, and seniors who are struggling with behavioral health concerns. With 150 beds and a full continuum of care, we help our patients make sustained progress toward better health throughout their time at our serene , 20 -acre main campus in St. Charles, Missouri.

We are seeking a Full Time Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team.

Our levels of care are separated by age group:

  • Adolescents (ages 12-17): Inpatient mental health treatment, detoxification, dual diagnosis treatment, residential treatment for substance use disorders
  • Adults (age 18 and older): Inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient program (IOP) for mental health disorders; detoxification; residential treatment for substance use disorders
  • Senior adults (no age limit): Inpatient mental health stabilization, detoxification, and medication stabilization for dementia

Overview:

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • One or more years post graduate degree practice preferred.
  • Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Board certified in psychiatry
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
