Job Description

Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator and be part of a dynamic health care organization making a difference in patients' lives. You will work collaboratively with the care team, delivering exceptional customer service while supporting clinical and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, family members, and guests
  • Assist patients with registration
  • Schedule appointments for patients
  • Collect copays and obtain referrals
  • Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately
  • Enter and scan patient demographic and insurance information
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Assist with coordination of follow-up care and referrals
  • Send patient records to primary care physicians
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a medical front office position
  • Experience with electronic health records (EPIC)
  • Knowledge of medical terms
  • Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
  • Bi-Lingual in English and Arabic or Mandarin/Cantonese
