Job Description
Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator and be part of a dynamic health care organization making a difference in patients' lives. You will work collaboratively with the care team, delivering exceptional customer service while supporting clinical and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
Greet patients, family members, and guests
Assist patients with registration
Schedule appointments for patients
Collect copays and obtain referrals
Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately
Enter and scan patient demographic and insurance information
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Assist with coordination of follow-up care and referrals
Send patient records to primary care physicians
Assist with other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
Intermediate level of computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience in a medical front office position
Experience with electronic health records (EPIC)
Knowledge of medical terms
Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
Bi-Lingual in English and Arabic or Mandarin/Cantonese
