Maintain the general ledger for multiple properties.
Complete the monthly close process including preparation of journal entries.
Prepare monthly property financial statements.
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and provide applicable schedules as backup to ensure accurate reporting. Maintain schedules including fixed assets, amortization, escrows, accruals, and pre-paid schedules.
Prepare and record necessary monthly accruals and recurring journal entries
Prepare quarterly external financial reports.
Review documentation and coding of payable invoices, check requests, and capital expenditures.
Monthly bank statement reconciliations
Monthly revenue reconciliations
Track capital expenditures and depreciation
Assist in preparing the annual budget.
Monitor monthly mortgage payments
Ad hoc financial analysis.
Assist auditors in performing year-end audits of financial statements.
Special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Proven experience in property accounting
Microsoft Excel – advanced level including pivot-tables and formulas
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Highly organized, concise, detailed, flexible, efficient, multi-task well, and work under pressure and be aware of deadlines
Must be able to work independently.
Have exceptional written and oral communication skills.
