Job Description

Join Raytheon as a Mechanical Analysis Section Leader, where you will lead a talented team of engineers in Tucson, AZ, ensuring high-quality technical output and supporting critical military programs through all phases of the product life cycle. Your leadership will drive innovation and problem-solving in the field of mechanical analysis and materials engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 15-20 engineers
  • Provide technical development and mentorship for team members
  • Ensure accuracy of technical output and decisions
  • Coordinate staffing needs and support recruitment efforts
  • Resolve technical, operational, and supplier problems
  • Support product life cycle through various engineering reviews

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree or 14+ years of experience without a degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with materials and process design for military programs
  • Experience in testing methods for materials
  • Experience in failure analysis of mechanical assemblies
  • Experience in dimensional inspection and measurement techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten years of experience in materials problem solving and design selection
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplined projects
  • Direct experience in the aerospace industry
  • Advanced degree in related disciplines
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of data analysis and computational techniques
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to write technical reports
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Creo, and/or Python
  • MS Office proficiency
