Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you will guide a dedicated team in providing top-notch veterinary care to underserved communities. You will balance hands-on clinical duties with leadership responsibilities, fostering a supportive environment while ensuring animal welfare is prioritized.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Support a positive work culture and ensure team members master low-stress handling techniques
Participate in administrative duties, including scheduling and communication with the Medical Director
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Maintain open mind regarding changes and be willing to learn, implement, and teach new protocols
Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
