ABOUT THE ROLE Amrize, one of the largest construction materials producers in the world, is recruiting full-time Diesel Mechanics for our expanding Dallas/Ft Worth Ready Mix Division. This position will maintain and repair heavy construction, automotive, mechanical, and machinery.
A range of positions, from Apprentice to Senior Master Mechanic, are available.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH As directed and guided by the Maintenance Supervisor, the essential duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following;
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures. Provide repair and maintenance to diesel and gasoline engines. Adjust and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and steering systems. Maintain and repair chassis, frames, and bodies. Work with hoisting and jacking equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, gauges, and meters. Lubricate equipment. Maintain and repair tires, batteries, brakes, and valves. Perform shop management functions such as maintenance scheduling and spare parts inventory control, making estimates of material, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Assist other mechanics as needed.
- Have basic computer proficiency and good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have good organizational skills, meet strict deadlines, and document issues and procedures.
- Can work in a team atmosphere and learn new tasks.
- Must be able to work unsupervised.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Other duties as needed.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license, Class A or B commercial driver's license preferred
- 3 years experience directly related to the duties or mechanics school graduate (Heavy equipment diesel engines and transmissions)
- Requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- They may be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
- Must be able to stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
- Must be able to move freely, including the ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds unassisted.
Additional Requirements: - Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
