Job Description
The Director of Operations will lead the management of the agency's real estate portfolio across New York City, ensuring efficient property operations and compliance with safety standards. This hybrid role combines leadership, vendor coordination, and operational oversight, making a significant impact on the wellbeing of clients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of agency properties across NYC
Manage area managers and supervise teams of handymen
Collaborate with external contractors for complex maintenance issues
Ensure compliance with life safety standards and local regulations
Develop and implement performance metrics for operational effectiveness
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years as a tradesperson in mechanical, plumbing, or electrical fields
At least 5 years of managerial experience overseeing teams or operations
Verifiable experience with technical building systems
Proven understanding of maintenance operations and vendor management
Fluent in English
Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a hybrid role with field and office responsibilities
Familiarity with life safety system requirements and contract management
FDNY licenses such as an F80
Ability to analyze performance metrics for operational improvements
