Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient
Plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff
Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
Administer chemotherapy/biotherapy and manage associated protocols
Transfusion of blood and platelets
Manage patients with radiation implants and central venous access devices
Perform bone marrow biopsy and aspiration, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
Provide epidural and intrathecal analgesia
Required Qualifications
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (ASN) from Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
BSN required within 24 months of hire
Current BLS- Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate Provider must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS required within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of two years of experience in an acute care setting
Oncology experience highly preferred
