Join UCHealth as a Registered Nurse specializing in forensic care, where you'll perform critical examinations and provide essential support to victims of violence. This role requires a compassionate approach while ensuring meticulous evidence collection and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform forensic examinations of individuals impacted by violence
Collect and preserve evidence, and document findings
Provide direct nursing care of injuries and prophylactic medications
Communicate with victims and their families regarding evidence collection and treatment
Advocate for victims and provide expert testimony in court trials
Utilize critical thinking skills and work with minimal supervision
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program
Completion of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training within 3 months of hire
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
1 year of RN experience or 6 months of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife)
BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications
3 years of RN experience in an acute care/hospital setting
