Job Description

Join Raytheon as a Mechanical Analysis Section Leader in Tucson, AZ, where you will manage a team of engineers and ensure quality technical output throughout the product life cycle. This role is pivotal in supporting military programs and solving complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform direct line management activities and provide leadership for 15-20 engineers
  • Provide technical development, mentoring, training, and performance management
  • Ensure accuracy of technical output based on data and analyses
  • Collaborate with Department Leader on engineering goals and initiatives
  • Coordinate program and department staffing needs
  • Perform individual contributor workload in subject matter discipline
  • Evaluate and resolve technical, operational, and supplier problems
  • Provide engineering support throughout product life cycle

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or 14+ years without a degree
  • Experience with materials and process design, development, and/or production support for military programs
  • Experience in working on a cross-functional team to meet program milestones
  • Experience in testing methods for generation of physical properties of materials
  • Experience with analysis and requirements of PWB/CCA interconnects
  • Experience in failure analysis of mechanical assemblies
  • Experience in dimensional inspection/measurement techniques, tribology and paint processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten years of experience in materials problem solving and design selection
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplined scientific projects
  • Direct experience in aerospace industry material types
  • Advanced degree in relevant disciplines
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and computational techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write concise technical reports
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Creo, and/or Python
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Basis of Estimate (BOE) Certification
