Job Description

Join Amazon as a Critical Infrastructure Fire Protection Engineer, where you will be a vital resource in ensuring the safety and efficiency of AWS Data Centers. You will leverage your engineering expertise to mentor teams, troubleshoot issues, and innovate solutions that enhance fire protection and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through maintenance
  • Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers
  • Troubleshoot and create Corrective Action documentation for site/equipment failures
  • Mentor and train customers and partner engineers in fire protection principles
  • Develop innovative solutions for AWS’s data centers
  • Initiate and lead engineering audits including on-site visits
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or construction industry related to fire protection
  • Experience with fire suppression systems, fire alarm and detection systems, fire-resistive construction, and life safety
  • Valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience authoring white papers, technical documentation, training materials
  • Experience in construction of data centers and large-scale mechanical and power systems
  • Experience analyzing failures of fire protection systems
  • Experience as a fire marshal, fire plans examiner, fire inspector
  • Licensed Fire Protection Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of ICC Codes, NFPA Standards
