Expected Hours: 36 hours a week

Job Type: Contract , 21 weeks

Note:- We have NICU (Neonatal ICU) roles available at the same facility with the same pay.

Job Overview:

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse provides specialized, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill or injured infants, children, and adolescents in a hospital setting. This role involves continuous monitoring, assessment, and intervention to stabilize patients with life-threatening conditions, complex medical needs, or post-surgical recovery. The PICU Nurse collaborates closely with pediatric intensivists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and document the condition of critically ill pediatric patients, including vital signs, neurological status, and hemodynamic stability.
• Administer medications, fluids, and blood products in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Operate and manage advanced life-support equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as blood draws, EKGs, and arterial blood gases.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with regulatory and hospital standards.
• Educate and support families regarding their child’s condition, treatment options, and home care requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• AZ RN License/Compact License
• 2 years of RN Peds Intensive care experience
• Education Requirements: Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Children’s hospital experience preferred.
• Experience at a hospital with a Level III or IV NICU is strongly preferred.
