Job Details:
• Work alternating shifts based on unit needs: 11:00 PM to 11:30 PM (2 shifts) and 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (2 shifts)
• 12 hours of orientation required
• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Weekend coverage required
• Care for patients of all ages: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Daily census of approximately 45 patients
• Cross-trained to support respiratory services
• Typically 1 inpatient RN on shift, occasionally 2 RNs
• No nursing assistants initially - team is cross-trained across the building
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must be proficient with Epic charting system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, NRP, PALS, TNCC, PA State License, ATCN
• Skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, IV sedation, emergency medications, triage, ventilated patients, and trauma care
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy
• Pass/Fail exam required for clearance with only 3 attempts allowed
• PA fingerprints and childline clearance required
• Must complete labs within 48 hours of signing
