Overview
This position is for a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) working in a 22-bed unit that provides care for adult and geriatric patients. The facility is located in Wilson, NC, approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret EKGs with critical thinking skills.
- Manage patient discharges and admissions.
- Administer basic cardiac drips and other prescribed treatments.
- Provide care for patients with common diagnoses including CHF, CP, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post-cardiac catheterization.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team ensuring optimal patient care.
- Adhere to patient safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
Unit Information
Unit: Telemetry
- Patient Ratio: 5:1 or 6:1
- Equipment: Welch Allyn Vital Signs machine, Hoyer Lift with weight scale, Abbott Glucometer, Computers on Wheels, TR band, Baxter IV pumps.
- EHR: Meditech EMR
Requirements
- Education: Associate degree required, BSN preferred.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS.
- Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in a telemetry or similar setting.
- Ability to float to Med/Surg Overflow if required.
- Must be team-oriented and flexible.
Schedule
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
- Weekend Hours: 12 hours (every other or every third weekend)
- No call requirements.
