Job Description

Join Raytheon as a Mechanical Analysis Section Leader in Tucson, AZ, where you'll lead a team of engineers and ensure high-quality technical output throughout the product life cycle. This role emphasizes leadership, technical development, and problem-solving in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 15-20 engineers
  • Provide technical development and mentoring to team members
  • Ensure accuracy of technical output and decisions
  • Collaborate with department leaders on engineering goals
  • Coordinate staffing needs and recruitment efforts
  • Perform individual contributor workload in subject matter discipline
  • Resolve technical and operational problems related to materials and processes
  • Support product life cycle with engineering oversight

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree
  • 10 years of relevant experience or 14+ years without a degree
  • Experience with materials and process design for military programs
  • Experience in cross-functional team environments
  • Experience in testing methods for physical properties of materials
  • Experience with PWB/CCA interconnects analysis
  • Failure analysis experience of mechanical assemblies
  • Dimensional inspection/measurement techniques experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in materials problem solving
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplined projects
  • Direct experience in aerospace industry materials
  • Advanced degree in relevant disciplines
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of data analysis and computational techniques
  • Strong communication and planning skills
  • Ability to write concise technical reports
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Creo, and/or Python
  • Proficient in MS Office
