Job Description

Join Raytheon as a Mechanical Analysis Section Leader, where you will lead a talented team of engineers in Tucson, AZ. You will manage technical outputs across various engineering phases, ensuring quality and innovation in materials and process engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform direct line management activities and provide leadership for approximately 15-20 engineers
  • Provide technical development of people, mentoring, training, and performance management
  • Ensure the accuracy of technical output based on data and analyses
  • Coordinate program and department staffing needs
  • Perform individual contributor workload in the leader’s subject matter discipline
  • Provide evaluation and resolution to technical, operational, and supplier problems
  • Provide Materials and Process Engineering support and technical oversight

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with materials and process design, development, and/or production support for military programs
  • Experience in working on a cross-functional team
  • Experience in testing methods for generation of physical properties of materials
  • Experience with analysis and requirements of PWB/CCA interconnects
  • Experience in failure analysis of mechanical assemblies
  • Experience in dimensional inspection/measurement techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten years of experience in materials problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplined scientific projects
  • Direct experience utilizing all material types in the aerospace industry
  • Advanced degree in related disciplines
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of data analysis and computational techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to write concise technical reports
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Creo and/or Python
  • Proficiency in MS Office
