School Nurse

TITLE: SCHOOL NURSE
Full time (11-month) (36.25/hrs/wk) position
Exceptional Education Department

DUTIES: Perform routine classroom nursing services in the care of students with special needs and/or students in general education. Assigned to work in the School Health Office.

• Administer medications in accordance with specific instructions.
• Collect data; perform observations, record blood pressure, temperature, pulse & respiration rate.
• Maintain health records and complete reports, including Medicaid documentation.
• Administer prescribed treatment according to New York State Education Department guidelines. Communicate with BOCES health office, staff and families.
• Some travel on school trips may be required.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Other duties as assigned.

Residency Waived

QUALIFICATIONS: New York State License and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse. Special Requirement: Possession of a valid license at time of appointment required.

START DATE: 7/10/25 (opportunity to work some days in June for overlap with current RN)

SALARY: $51,340-$60,400 ( 11-Month position Salary Range) Excellent benefits are available. (Position works 7.25 hours/day 36.25 hours/week. 215 days. Works the school calendar
plus 30 days in summer school. Does not accrue additional vacation days.)

Salary/Compensation: $51,340 - $60,400 per year
