Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Hospital Medical Assistant, where you will provide essential support to patients and healthcare providers in a collaborative environment. Your role will involve patient intake, administering injections, and assisting with various medical procedures, all while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare and route pathology and lab specimens
Respond to patient questions as instructed by the physician
Schedule or re-schedule appointments
Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures as needed
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
At least one year of medical assisting experience
Completion of a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant program
Professionalism and strong customer service skills
Ability to communicate with doctors clearly and concisely
Ability to communicate with patients and co-workers in a professional manner
Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds
Able to stand for prolonged periods
