Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to improve health outcomes through excellent customer service and teamwork. In this role, you'll manage patient interactions, support check-in/check-out processes, and assist in connecting patients with necessary resources.
Key Responsibilities
Greets patients and manages wait time
Completes check-in and check-out tasks including insurance verification
Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles
Processes walk-in patients and visitors
Answers phones and schedules appointments
Manages medical records and prepares for schedules
Assists patients with completing required paperwork
Connects patients with outside resources for self-care
Ensures correspondence is scanned and filed properly
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients and staff
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of customer service or healthcare experience
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience working in a medical office position
1+ years of experience/knowledge of medical terms
Experience working with an electronic health record (ECW)
Beginner level of computer proficiency (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word)
Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
