Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team in providing high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. Support your colleagues, deliver compassionate care, and make a significant impact on animal welfare in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
  • Support a positive work culture through regular 1:1s and coaching
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality surgical procedures
  • Provide compassionate, quality preventive care to patients
  • Participate in administrative duties including scheduling and feedback

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
