Key Responsibilities
Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments
Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet individual student needs
Conduct functional vision assessments and learning media assessments
Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to IEP goals
Train students in the use of low vision devices and accessible educational tools
Support transition planning for older students
Maintain accurate records and document student progress
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field
State certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in PA
Proficiency in Braille
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Experience working with students across a range of visual abilities and educational settings
