Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Rugby, ND 58368 (North Dakota nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Medical/Surgical Unit
• Start Date: November 18, 2025
• End Date: February 17, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights), including weekends and holidays
• Unit Size: 10-bed Med/Surg (private rooms)
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1950 - $2090

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Dakota or compact state
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• IV therapy experience required
• Ability to interpret cardiac strips (Phillips monitors)
• Familiarity with Epic charting system preferred
• Willingness to assist in Emergency Room (ER) as needed

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to diverse Med/Surg patients (pneumonia, fractures, post-op, pain management, and more)
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform physician-ordered treatments
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and titrate IV drips as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including charge nurses, nurse aides, and providers
• Document all patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Educate patients and families on care plans and health management strategies
• Participate in weekend and holiday shift rotations
• Maintain a safe, positive patient environment and adhere to hospital policies and procedures
