Post Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse – Travel Position
Location: Bismarck, ND

Shift: Days + Call
Pay: $2,174.40/week
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join on a travel contract in Bismarck, ND. The PACU RN will provide compassionate and critical care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical or diagnostic procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and confident in handling patients in a high-acuity post-operative setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia phase.
Monitor patients’ vital signs, consciousness, airway, and pain levels.
Administer medications, IV fluids, and interventions as ordered.
Respond promptly to changes in patient status and provide emergency interventions when necessary.
Educate patients and families on post-anesthesia care and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Participate in on-call rotations as scheduled.
Qualifications:
Current and valid RN license in North Dakota (or compact license).
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
Minimum of 3 years of recent PACU or critical care experience required.
Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
COVID vaccine and recent TB test.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress recovery and emergency situations.
