Job Description
Join Grainger as a Mechanical Technician on the 2nd shift, where you'll be the expert on automated material handling systems. You'll troubleshoot complex issues, ensure maximum system uptime, and contribute to a culture of service and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Be the subject matter expert on all automated material handling and building systems
Provide technical expertise for daily issues and solutions for recurring problems
Respond to complex system issues involving automated material handling
Assist with infrastructure upgrades and modifications/repairs
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems
Perform audits and quality checks on equipment and systems
Provide diagnosis analyses on various building equipment and systems
Work in teams to resolve problems
Required Qualifications
Technical degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of building and equipment maintenance experience
2 years maintaining automated material handling systems
Complete technical training in electronic controls, power distribution, and PLC troubleshooting
Experienced using electrical test equipment and hand tools
Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and schematics
Preferred Qualifications
Technical skills to become subject matter expert for automated material handling systems
Experience with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC programming
Understanding of power distribution and control circuits
Experience with thermal imaging equipment
