Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and lead a dedicated team in providing high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll support veterinarians in their professional growth, oversee medical practices, and ensure outstanding client experiences, all while making a significant impact on animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Support new and experienced veterinarians in reaching their potential.
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic.
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques.
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality spay/neuter procedures.
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients.
Coach veterinarians on effective client communication.
Participate in monthly veterinary medicine rounds and meetings.
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Fear Free® Shelter certification is required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
