Job Description
Join Raytheon as a Mechanical Analysis Section Leader in Tucson, AZ, where you'll lead a talented engineering team, ensuring high-quality technical output throughout the product life cycle. Drive innovation in materials and process engineering while mentoring the next generation of engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Perform direct line management activities and provide leadership for approximately 15-20 engineers
Provide technical development of people, mentoring, training, performance management, and resource allocation
Provide oversight to ensure the accuracy of technical output of assignments based on data and analyses
Team with the Department Leader in the execution of Materials and Process Engineering
Coordinate program and department staffing needs, optimizing resource utilization, and supporting recruitment and retention efforts
Perform individual contributor workload in the leader’s subject matter discipline
Provide evaluation and resolution to technical, operational, and supplier problems related to materials and processes
Provide support and technical oversight to programs’ product life cycle
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
Experience with materials and process design, development, and/or production support for military programs
Experience in working on a cross-functional team to meet program milestones and commitments
Experience in testing methods for generation of physical properties of materials
Experience with analysis and requirements of PWB/CCA interconnects
Experience in failure analysis of mechanical assemblies
Experience in dimensional inspection/measurement techniques, tribology and paint processes
Preferred Qualifications
Ten years of experience in materials problem solving, materials design selection and reviews
Demonstrated ability to lead and complete multi-disciplined scientific based projects
Direct experience utilizing all material types to support production and development in the aerospace industry
Advanced degree in aforementioned disciplines
Understanding of Systems Engineering
Knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and various computational techniques
Strong communication, interpersonal, planning and time management skills
Demonstrated strong written and verbal scientific communication skills
Ability to write concise technical reports summarizing analyses
Knowledge of MATLAB, Creo and/or Python
MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Basis of Estimate (BOE) Certification
