Sable Corporation is seeking a per diem / prn nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a per diem / prn nursing job in Joliet, Illinois.
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity team on a per diem basis in Joliet, IL. This role provides an opportunity to deliver exceptional care in an intensive care environment while offering flexible scheduling in collaboration with the unit manager. Candidates must be prepared to float to other like-kind units or related specialties based on clinical scope and unit needs.
Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in accordance with established nursing protocols and hospital standards
Perform detailed patient assessments, initiate and monitor critical care interventions, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to support patient stability and recovery
Administer medications, manage complex IV drips, ventilators, and other life-sustaining equipment
Document all assessments, treatments, and changes using the facility’s EMR
Float to other ICU, SDU, or telemetry-type units as needed based on your clinical skill set and unit acuity
Participate in regular weekend and holiday rotation as required for per diem staff
Active Illinois RN license (Required)
BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA – Required)
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Critical Care, ICU, or Stepdown (Preferred)
Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
Strong critical thinking, communication, and multi-tasking skills
Willingness to float to related units within scope of practice
