• Location: Rockford, IL 61104 – Prime Midwest location with outdoor recreation, cultural attractions, and a friendly healthcare community
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (Locum Tenens)
• Start Date: October 13, 2025
• End Date: January 10, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 10-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 40 (Guaranteed)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2330 - $2500

OR Tech Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Operating Room Technician or Surgical Technologist, with First Assist experience preferred
• Active Illinois state license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Certified First Assistant (RNFA or CRNFA program completion)
• Must comply with a 50-mile radius rule for travel healthcare jobs

Operating Room Technician Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during operative procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal clinical outcomes
• Perform First Assist duties, including tissue handling, wound closure, and surgical exposure
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and surgical instruments for all operating room procedures
• Collaborate with perioperative nursing and anesthesia staff to deliver seamless patient care
• Follow hospital policies, infection control protocols, and best practices in perioperative and surgical care
