Insurance Verification Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pre-Certification Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in pre-qualification and insurance verification, and will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient pre-certification processes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and Facilitate Pre-Determination Process: Ensure all candidates have pre-qualification experience and insurance verification experience.
• Insurance Verification and Pre-Certification: Contact appropriate insurance companies to verify benefits and obtain pre-certification for both surgical and non-surgical procedures. Notify the financial counselor for prepayment of uncoded services.
• Documentation Management: Supply all necessary documentation to insurance companies during the pre-certification process.
• Schedule Maintenance: Maintain the daily surgery/procedure schedule for department faculty. Keep open communication with physicians and their assistants regarding their schedules.
• Record Keeping: Maintain a written log of all pre-certifications in process. Notify the hospital utilization/billing department once pre-certification is received.
• Documentation Receipt: Ensure all documents are received when pre-certification is obtained from insurance companies.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of precertification and insurance verification experience
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• EMR experience - EPIC preferred
• High School diploma

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.57 - $30.84/hr.
