Key Responsibilities
Delivers expert patient care in helicopters and ambulances
Assesses patient care needs and establishes priorities
Performs basic and advanced airway techniques
Administers and maintains pharmacologic agents and intravenous fluids
Monitors and evaluates invasive and non-invasive techniques/procedures
Maintains program readiness and ensures cleanliness of supplies
Establishes and maintains professional radio communications
Ensures safe operations during transport-related activities
Acts as safety officer for specialty team flights
Assists in the orientation of new Critical Care Transport Specialists
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Successful completion of an approved Paramedic course
3 years experience as an NREMT-P
NREMT - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic
Licensed Paramedic in the District of Columbia within 30 Days
Licensed Paramedic in Maryland
CPR certification
ACLS certification
PALS certification
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed Paramedic in Virginia
Significant field experience in a high acuity, high volume EMS system
Specialized and/or advanced clerical, technical or other vocational training
