Job Description
The Multi-Modality Imaging Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures across MRI, CT, and X-ray modalities. This role ensures high-quality imaging, patient safety, and adherence to all regulatory and accreditation standards. The technologist collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic information.
Key Responsibilities:
MRI:
- Operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images.
- Screen patients for contraindications (e.g., implants, pacemakers).
- Administer contrast agents as required.
- Monitor patients during scans and ensure comfort and safety.
CT (CAT Scan):
- Perform CT scans including trauma, contrast, and non-contrast studies.
- Prepare and position patients accurately.
- Administer IV contrast following protocol and monitor for reactions.
- Perform post-processing and 3D reconstructions as needed.
X-ray:
- Conduct general radiographic exams including portable and fluoroscopic procedures.
- Ensure proper positioning and technique to minimize radiation exposure.
- Maintain and calibrate X-ray equipment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Licensure/Certification:
- ARRT (R) required.
- ARRT (CT) and ARRT (MR) certifications preferred or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
- State licensure (if applicable).
- BLS certification.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in operating MRI, CT, and X-ray equipment.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and cross-sectional imaging.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and EMR systems.
Work Environment:
- Hospital or outpatient imaging center.
- Rotating shifts, weekends, and on-call duties may be required.
- Exposure to radiation and magnetic fields with appropriate safety measures.
Schedule
Eve Shift - 4p-12a Every other Weekend/Every other Holiday Required.
