Job Description
Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator and play a key role in enhancing healthcare delivery. You'll work in a collaborative environment, providing essential administrative support and connecting patients with the resources they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Handling incoming and outgoing phone calls
Message management in EMR system
Providing direct administrative support to the practice and care team
Scheduling appointments
Organizing and completing patient forms and letters
Updating patient information
Insurance verification
Obtaining prior authorizations for exams/testing
Collaborating with medical providers, nurses, and staff
Problem solving patient issues/requests
Providing coverage for check-in/check-out patients
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of customer service, call center and/or healthcare experience
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience working in a healthcare setting (i.e. Urgent Care, Specialty)
Experience with EPIC/electronic medical record systems
Strong communication and customer service skills both in person and via phone
Self-starter with effective multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of general office procedures
Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Teams)
Bilingual English/Spanish
