Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care as needed
Collect, interpret and document patient care information
Perform procedures as directed by the Medical Director
Maintain quality control logs for CLIA-waived labs
Take vital signs and collect specimens
Administer medications and immunizations per clinic policy
Document and bill for nursing charges
Provide clerical support including scheduling and obtaining referrals
Perform telephone call reminders for appointments
Demonstrate competence in age-specific care
Support University Health mission and customer service standards
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school
Certification from an approved credentialing body for medical assistants
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Card
Preferred Qualifications
National certification as a registered Medical Assistant
One-year experience in a clinic, doctor's office or ambulatory care setting
