Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist, where you'll provide essential support in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Your role will include patient intake, administering injections, and assisting healthcare providers, all while ensuring compliance with medical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from exam rooms and complete intake
Clean and straighten exam rooms
Prepare syringes and administer injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare and route pathology and lab specimens
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule and re-schedule appointments
Comply with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and records
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
Professionalism and strong customer service skills
Ability to communicate clearly with doctors and patients
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
