Salary: 90,000 - 95,000 / year based on experience

Job Summary

Location: Rushford The Ridge (Willimantic, CT) & Natchaug Hospital (Mansfield Center, CT)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Food & Nutrition Services to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our healthcare dining services across two behavioral health facilities. This leadership role is ideal for a results-oriented professional with a passion for hospitality, culinary excellence, and team development within a mission-driven healthcare environment.

This position oversees operations at Rushford The Ridge and Natchaug Hospital , serving a combined total of 120 behavioral health beds . The account is 3M in managed volume , with 22 employees including two full-time leads , and no retail component .

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of food and nutrition service associates to consistently deliver high-quality meals and excellent customer service.
• Foster strong partnerships with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and other departments to support patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and management team to create nutritious, appealing, and compliant menus.
• Manage all financial aspects of the account, including P&L, budgeting, cost controls, and forecasting.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and uphold high standards for food safety, sanitation, and quality.
• Roll out and sustain new culinary programs and service initiatives tailored to the behavioral health environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, or a related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in foodservice operations, ideally in healthcare or behavioral health settings.
• Proven expertise in high-volume food production and back-of-house operations.
• Strong financial management skills and experience with budgeting and P&L oversight.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, team development, and patient-focused service.
