Job Details:
• Work varied schedule in emergency department setting
• Must float between BDWMC & BBWMC campuses as required
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care for emergency department patients
• Provide direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of healthcare team activities
• Complete patient assessments including physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs
• Review diagnostics and laboratory data, report abnormal results to physicians and caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized plans of care based on patient-specific needs
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revise care plans as needed
• Document all nursing activities in patient records according to policy requirements
• Participate in education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel
• Supervise licensed and non-licensed personnel in providing quality patient care
• Must possess current valid RN license in state of practice or compact licensure
• BLS certification required
• Minimum one year acute care hospital experience required
• Experience in acute care setting within past 12 months as RN in specialty area required
• Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to emergency department
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and use proper body mechanics for patient transfers
• Must use standard precautions due to exposure to blood and bodily fluids
