Job Description
The Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer II at MUSC plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality echocardiograms for pediatric patients. This position requires independence and efficiency in clinical operations while ensuring adherence to hospital policies. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in pediatric echocardiography and the ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high quality echocardiograms for interpretation by a Pediatric Cardiologist
Organize and prioritize patient exams
Perform clinical Pediatric Echo operations in various settings
Cover all MUSC Pediatric Echo Lab locations and shifts including call rotation
Required Qualifications
Graduation from a Cardiovascular/Ultrasound program or equivalent experience
Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a RDCS or RCCS in Pediatrics
Two years minimum pediatric echocardiography work experience
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and complex congenital heart disease
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification
Associate of Arts/Science or Bachelor’s degree
Fetal Echo and research experience
Echocardiography experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Cath Lab
