The Mammographer plays a key role in the early detection of breast cancer and related conditions by conducting mammographic examinations and ensuring high-quality imaging. This position requires a commitment to patient safety and ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct mammographic examinations to detect and diagnose breast abnormalities
Operate mammography equipment and follow established protocols
Document findings in Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
Identify and address charges associated with studies
Ensure patient safety and minimize radiation exposure
Complete annual competencies and stay current with advancements in techniques
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program
ARRT (R)(M) Mammography certification
BLS (CPR) certification - American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
